there's no book under my desk, so im just going to write about what we did today. we went over the test. i got an 80 so thats cool i thought i was going to fail. im mad because someone got me sick and i just want to go home and sleep.

so earlier today i fell up the stairs and i hit my knee (the tendinitis one) and it swelled up and turned purple and orange for some reason so i went to the nurse during class. i wasn't there for a lot of class but we went over the powerpoint.

The first verse of the rap says that the people of Rome got tired of Tarquin the Proud's corrupt leadership, so they ran him out. That information is also found in the textbook on page 156. "A harsh tyrant, he was driven from power in 509 B.C. The Romans declared they would never again be ruled by a king." The rap says "democracy aristocracy plus monarchy not a tyranny" and the book says that the Romans took the best features of each type of government and made their own called a republic. Another line of the rap says "Hannibal riding on elephant back crossing the Alps just to launch his attack" which was Hannibal's battle strategy.

MAIN IDEAS-- Rome began as a republic, a government in which elected officials represent the people. Eventually, absolute rulers called emperors seized power and expanded the empire. At its height, the Roman Empire touched three continents: Europe, Asia, and Africa. For several centuries, Rome brought peace and prosperity to its empire before its eventual collapse. Out of Judea rose a monotheistic religion known as Christianity.
