I've come to the conclusion that i will memorize the entire Odyssey and become the century's first bard instead of going to college for a career.

Socrates
  • looked to science and logic for answers on the world rather than the gods
  • the Socratic method fostered critical thinking 
  • "the unexamined life is not worth living"
  • charged with impiety (disrespecting the gods) and corrupting the youth of Athens
  • he didn't deny what he did
  • said he deserved free dinner for life for what he did 
  • he was found guilty and sentenced to death by hemlock poisoning
Plato
  • student of Socrates
  • he wrote out Socrates teachings
  • described his trial in the Apology 
Aristotle
  • student of Plato
  • helped foster the idea of Athens as an intellectual destination 
  • his school focused on cooperative research
  • building on knowledge gathered from all over the world
  • tutored Alexander the great 
  • wrote extensively on every topic known to man

my blog is becoming so boring and its lost its spark and ugh so from now on every day theres gonna be a little Leigh segment just for fun 21. What were the three ways in which the Nile influenced Egyptian life? since there was yearly flooding in the Nile (at the Nile? on the Nile?), the floods brought silt which was extremely beneficial for agriculture. it was good for planting and growing crops. 22. Why were the pyramids built? the pyramids were built as a special tomb for ancient Egyptian pharaohs. they were seen as gods, so the people built them a special burial site with everything they need to take with them in the afterlife such as food and water, valuables like jewelry, and other material items. there's no book under my desk, so im just going to write about what we did today. we went over the test. i got an 80 so thats cool i thought i was going to fail. im mad because someone got me sick and i just want to go home and sleep.
